Follow-up to the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples AGM

To all the community presidents and members of the Native Alliance of Quebec.

On September 20 and 21, 2024, the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples AGM was held in Ottawa, at which the 11 Provincial and Territorial organizations were represented, and we had the chance to exchange and work with people from other provinces and territories on what has been done and what could be done in the future.

During the elections, two new figures emerged as winners, so I would like to announce that Ms. Shawna Jean has been elected to the position of Vice-Chief and Mr. Brendan Moore has been elected Chief, so I would like to offer them my full cooperation and wish them the best of luck in their new respective positions.

During this meeting, we also ratified the minutes of the 2023 AGM, so I am pleased to include in the attached file a copy of all these resolutions including their follow-ups.

You will also find attached photos with our new Vice-Chief as well as with our new National Chief.

I would also like to take this opportunity to inform you that we have been heard in the Quebec Court of Appeal against the Attorney General of Quebec in our case on our rights. The three judges took the matter under advisement and informed us that we should receive the result within a reasonable time.
