How to become a member?

To become a member of the Native Alliance of Québec Inc., you must communicate with the community that is the closest to your residence. Go to the Communities tab, find the one that is closest to your residence and communicate with them to complete your application.

You can also prepare all the documents pertaining to your application before you communicate with the community. In order to do so, you will need the following documentation:

  • Your membership application form (You can find this form under the Membership tab - under Forms);
  • Your long-form birth certificate, with your parents' names;
  • Your complete genealogy with the proof of aboriginal ancestry
  • The birth, marriage or death certificate of your native parent, be it your mother or your father, depending on your aboriginal ancestry;
  • Passport photo
  • A cheque or money-order in the amount of $44.00, this amount includes your application and the first year of membership dues.

Once all your documents have been compiled, communicate with your community and she will proceed with your application. Once received at the head office we will process your file as soon as possible.

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FEE AND ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES

The cost to become a new member of the Native Alliance of Québec Inc. is 44.00$ for the people 64 years old and under and 31.50$ for the people 65 years old and over. This amount includes the application fee as well as the first year of membership dues.

When applying to become a member, please make your cheque or money order in the amount of 44.00$ payable to the community that you are applying with.

All NAQ members MUST pay their membership dues annually. The dues are in the amount of 20.00$ annually for the people 64 years old and under and 7.50$ for the people 65 years old and over. Payable to your community.

VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT SEND IN YOUR MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION OR YOUR MEMBERSHIP DUES DIRECTLY TO THE HEAD OFFICE. IF YOU DO SO, YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE RETURNED. IT IS MANDATORY THAT YOU APPLY WITHIN THE NAQ COMMUNITY THAT IS CLOSEST TO YOUR RESIDENCE.
